BIR RATE files 4.65 Billion Tax Evasion cases against 4 Gold Traders

Remember the Golden Rule: He who sells gold should obey the tax rule

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) filed a combined 4.65B tax evasion cases with the Department of Justice (DOJ) against four Gold Traders.  Two Gold Traders in Bulacan, One in Baclaran and one in Caloocan City. The Gold Traders failed to file their Annual Income tax returns , in violation of Sections 254 and 255 of the Tax Code.

BIR will allow Out of District Returns for Employees


BIR issued Revenue Memorandum Order 18-2011 dated April 14, 2011. Allowing Employees Receiving Purely Compensation Income to file anywhere.

April 15th 2011 is the Last Day of filing your ITRs

This is the LAST DAY of filing your Income Tax Returns (ITR).  Taxpayers filing after this will have to settle penalties on top of their tax dues.

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) today filed tax evasion cases against Rep. JUAN MIGUEL M. ARROYO, also known as Mikey Arroyo, and his wife MA. ANGELA M. ARROYO at the Department of Justice for attempt to evade or defeat tax, and willful failure to file returns and to pay taxes under Sec. 254 and Sec. 255 of the Tax Code, respectively.

BIR Missed Jan-Feb Target by 0.76%

Missed by a fraction

Cumulative collections by the Bureau of Internal Revenue from January and February 2011 have reached a total Php127.99 billion. Compared to its cumulative target of Php128.97 billion, actual collections of the BIR are behind by Php981 million or by only negative 0.76%.

Can an Online Domestic Air Ticket Serve as a VAT Receipt?



“No”,   the BIR does not allow it.  The online system of the Domestic Air Carrier should be able to generate an official receipt which shall reflect the information required under Section 113 and Section 237 of the NIRC.
