Don't wait for the deadline. File your ITRs ASAP

The Bureau of Internal Revenue has issued Bank Bulletin 2011-11 to all its Accredited Agent Banks (AABs) in preparation for the Income Tax Filing period to simplify and provide a faster processing of transactions.  Starting April 1 to 15th 2011 all AABs of the BIR are required to extend banking hours for tax payments and assign additional personnel to ensure the servicing of all taxpayers for the 2010 tax filing season.

How can I request for a TIN Card under my married name?

This is the message sent by Kelly in my other blog birtaxinfo.i.ph. The Message Box on the blog was designed for short messages. The concern on Kelly would take quite a few lines that may not be suited for that box.

kelly: hello and good day to you sir! I have an old TIN card and it still has my last name nung dalaga pa po ako. Now i am in the process of transferring the rdo to another rdo. Ask ko lang po if i can request for a new TIN card (i understand i need to surrender the old one) to the BIR branch that will have my TIN to be registered at that RDO? Para po sana isang lakaran na lang.. thanks!

Problems with Closing a Business

This is a concern of APC taken from my other blog birtaxinfo.i.ph.  I decided to post it here to help others with similar concerns. The other reason being is I've been having problems in posting especially if it the post is longer. Please see below the post of APC:

I have a concern. I applied with BIR 4 years ago to open a business but two weeks after applying with the BIR, I decided not to start the business o applied for closure of business with the BIR. Now, in Jan 2011 I opened another business in another RDO and the BIR said I have to apply for transfer of my TIN from old RDO to new RDO. Unfortunately, when I was processing the transfer, the old RDO said I have to show proof of income tax payment in 2008, 2009, 2010.

Problem with wrong TIN so what will happen to my taxes?

Heres a concern regarding transfer of TIN:

hi, i have a question, but first let me share my experience. I have a new employer and ask me to transfer my tin since its from different RDO. yesterday i went to BIR quezon ave. but the guard told me to file 1905 to my previous RDO w/c is Manila ( my previous employer for 5 yrs is in Malate) kahit malayo at matrapik no choice, i went to BIR Manila, when im in BIR Manila the officer ask my Name since i forgot my TIN number, and told me that my TIN registered in Pasay (first employer ko kcPasay).

How can I pay and file my taxes if I'm always abroad?

Who needs an iPad?
Paying taxes online may only be an app away

A professional whose not employed but rendering services to foreign clients abroad and also online. And whose work requires him to be in foreign land most of the time.

Hello!
I actually have two questions. Firstly, I registered some time ago online (to be on the safe side) for my TIN as sole proprietor (consultant). I work in many countries and online as a university-trained expert (but not employed). So I believe my registration info is accurate.
However, I was in contact with my RDO now that I am abroad all of the time and they wanted me to come in with various documents to secure my TIN card. I asked them if it is mandatory to have a card since I know my number and they felt I should have one. So my problem is that I cannot come personally (apparently they need to see some ID and see that it is my ID). I was wondering if I can tentatively fax a copy of the ID I do have and then go the nearest embassy and have them check my ID and fax the forms. Is this something BIR has allowed before for those who are abroad and cannot easily show up personally?

Concerns on Transfer of TIN to open a business

This concern came from my other blog birtaxinfo.i.ph.  The thread was getting a bit longer and I'm having problems in posting.  It takes several attempts. And if I'm not that lucky my whole post gets lost.  This is Hazel's concern below:

Hi! i have read several questions and was amazed how you answered them!…Im so happy sa pagse search ko ei na lead ako dito. Medyo mahaba yung thread and Im not sure kung may case na kapareho ng iask ko…so better i ask ko na lang din…
We are registering our home based business (situated in Los Banos) sa RDO Calamba. The business is under my husband’s name. But his TIN is presently listed at RDO Pasig. He asked their HR officer kung pedeng itransfer yung TIN nya from RDOPasig to RDOCalamba, the answer was NO.
What are we going to do?
Thanks in advance! Godbless!
