BIR Collection for August 2012 Grew by 10.04%

| BIR Collection is moving steadily |
For the month of August 2012, the BIR collected Php 96.76 billion in tax revenues, Php 8.83 Billion or 10.04% more than collections made in August of 2011. For the period January to August 2012, the BIR collected Php 701.43 Billion in tax revenues, Php 81.72 Billion or 13.19% more than collections made for the period January to August of 2011.

For the first four months of 2012 the BIR has made significant excess against previous 2011 collection. Focusing on tax compliance may be one of the main factors that will help in its attainment of its goal. As it hopes the economic conditions will improve and help increase tax collection.
In the face of the many crisis our country is facing, we hope the BIR will continue to put in its best efforts to help our country in its development.

The June 15, 2011 May 2011 Collection Performance Press Release of the BIR should have read “For the first five (5) months of CY 2011, or from January to May, taxes generated by the BIR have reached Php 391.09 billion. Surpassing last year’s collections for the same period, which amounted to Php 344.10 billion, by Php 46.99 billion for an expansion of about 13.7%.” Below is the corrected version of the said press release.

BIR Exceeds Tax Collection for March 2011
The Bureau of Internal Revenue collected a total of Php71.56 billion in tax revenues for the month of March 2011. This exceeds its target for the month, placed at Php68.07 billion, by Php3.5 billion or by about 5.13%.
