BIR's New Web Portal launched today June 15, 2012 at the National Training Center at the BIR Compound in Diliman, QC |
In line with the continuing thrust of the
Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) to improve the delivery of services and dissemination
of tax information to its customers, the BIR launched the enhanced BIR Portal today
at the BIR National Training Center.
Commissioner of Internal Revenue Kim S.
Jacinto-Henares led the launching ceremony which was attended by revenue
officials from the BIR National Office and the Metro Manila revenue regional
and district offices. Representatives of external stakeholders and users of the
BIR Portal also graced the event.
The BIR
website/portal is the gateway where the public can
conveniently access tax information (revenue issuances, BIR forms, zonal
values, etc.) and the Bureau’s various eServices over the internet, anytime and
anywhere.
The enhanced BIR
Portal offers new services and features not previously available in the old BIR
Portal. These new features include: single sign-on functionality to
conveniently access BIR eServices; enhanced search facility; and addition of a
channel for secure uploading and downloading of files and attachments (Alphalist
Data Entry and Validation Module,
etc.). Information on International Tax Matters, Lost Accountable Forms and How
to Avail eServices were also added.
The BIR Portal can be accessed at www.bir.gov.ph for FREE after a user’s registration has been validated and approved by the BIR. Users of the BIR Portal are classified into “communities,” namely: Taxpayers; Authorized Agent Banks; BIR Contractors; Government Agencies; BIR Officials; BIR Contact Center Employees; BIR Content Managers; and BIR Employees.
By grouping the
users into communities with common interests, the BIR Portal can deliver the
right information and services to the right users through customized channels
directly linked to BIR web resources (eServices, Tax Calendar, BIR Forms, Zonal
Values, etc.). By registering under a particular community, users will have
access to specific content/services authorized only for registrants under each
community.
The single sign-on
functionality makes access to BIR eServices easier through the Portal’s user
authentication process that enables a user to access multiple applications by
entering only one name and password.
